Type 1 MUGA is made up with an Open Textured Macadam, which performs to BS7044-4 and is finished with an anti slip acrylic coating. The build up of the Type 1 MUGA starts with a 200mm base of Type 1 MOT Stone with 50mm of Open Textured 20mm aggregate binder course macadam. It then has an extra wearing layer of 25mm open textured 6mm aggregate and this will then conform to BS7044-4.
The Type 1 Multi Use Games Area will then have an Acrylic anti slip coating applied and this will achieve a slip resistance of 60TRRL. The acrylic coating comes In 5 standard specified colours and these are White, Red, Green, Yellow & Blue and they also have Health & Safety accreditations from CONSTRUCTION LINE, API and CHAS. The Type 1 MUGA has also been specified to receive game line markings and these are also coated in a Fully Textured Water Based Acrylic Line Mark Paint. The lines are specified at 50mm wide and the primary sport colour is white. These types of specifications / designs is called a Q22 and can be found with architects and contractors.
