Tennis Court Line Marking Maintenance

If tennis is going to be the primary sport played on your MUGA court facility the surfaces that we recommend you look at are macadam, polymeric Multi Sport 15 or a sand filled surface with a turf depth of 13-24mm without a shockpad. The macadam and polymeric rubber specifications are hard courts which provide ideal ball bounce and slip resistance for playing tennis and other sports like netball and basketball. Sand filled synthetic turf pitches can also be used for tennis but these provide a softer surface which can also be used for sports like football and hockey.

Accurate line markings should be applied to each of these tennis surfaces and these can be either sprayed on in specialist paint or inlaid into the synthetic turf with a different coloured carpet. Once applied, it’s important to carry out maintenance to tennis court markings to ensure that the lines are kept clean and do not fade or become worn out. Our team can complete this work and help keep your sports surface in top condition so feel free to contact us for more details on what we do.

Specialist MUGA Line Marking Installers
White MUGA Line Marking

The international standard size of a tennis court is 23.77m x 10.97m with the width of lines being 50mm and baselines allowed to be up to 100mm. However the tennis court flooring dimensions and line markings that are applied on MUGAs vary from surface to surface. On macadam and polymeric surfaces the line markings are applied by being painted in specialist anti slip sports paint. A full coloured coating of acrylic or polyurethane non slip paint will be applied to the whole court in a chosen colour or two tone design, and line markings will then be applied in a contrasting colour. We can also install a range of coloured markings to turn the tennis facility into a multi use games area which is a lot more versatile and can be used for various activities in one place. On a synthetic grass surface lines are cut out of the pitch before being reinstalled in a different colour of synthetic turf, this creates a durable and long lasting finish.

Maintaining Sports Court Surfaces

It’s important to carry out regular cleaning including line marking maintenance to ensure that the surface is kept in top condition and is safe for use. For hard court surfaces like macadam and polymeric rubber, this can include brushing and pressure washing to remove debris from the area and prevent dirt from clogging up the pores and leading to flooding. For the synthetic grass pitches, maintenance could be drag brushing, infill rejuvenation and seam repairs to the carpet. Putting a regular maintenance plan into place for your synthetic sports pitch or court is the best way to be proactive in preventing damage to the surface. If the tennis court does sustain any damage, it’s important to get the problems fixed as soon as possible so please contact us if you are in need of repairs to your sports surface.
