If football is the only or main sport you are planning to play on your new MUGA than the ideal specification would be a 3G sports surface which is a grass pile to the depth of around 40mm. This artificial grass carpet is filled with sand and rubber to leave around 20mm on show giving it that natural look! The infill particles help to keep the synthetic fibres upright and enhance the performance qualities in training and matches. We can also install small sided soccer line marking to these pitches which allow you to use the facility as a multi use games area.

Hard Court Facilities
Even though a 3G surface would be ideal for football it might not be ideal for other sports so if you are planning to use the facility for multiple sports a polymeric surface may be better suited. This is because it lends its playing characteristics to other sports and not just football e.g. tennis and basketball. On polymeric and macadam surfaces, line markings are painted on whereas on a synthetic turf pitch lines are first cut out before being filled with coloured synthetic turf that is cut out of a roll. The price of 5-a-side and 7-a-side line markings vary dependent on the type of surface method of installation as well as the size of the pitch which can vary from 25.91m x 16.76m to 42.65m x 25.91m.
