Triple Jump Run Up Runways are constructed with a long polymeric surface pathway to a sand pit landing pit where the triple jumpers land. The triple jump run up is designed, constructed, maintained and costed to suit all schools, nurseries, leisure centres and sports clubs because all projects are different with a different budget, costing, size restriction and all weather surface requirement.
Long Jump Run Up Runways are constructed in the same manner as a triple jump runway but with not as many take off boards. The long jump landing pit and pathway is usually the same length and most schools construct one tartan surface track runway to cater both track and field events. The athletics facility can be a multi purpose runway and usually surrounding the sand pit landing area is a mowing strip in either rubber EPDM surfacing or a flagged edge.
Long Jump and Triple Jump tartan surfacing Run Ups have been constructed as little as 10m in length upto a 50m runway and again this is all to do with budgets, size restrictions and whether they need to meet the iaaf international athletics standards. Usually for schools when the track and field facilities are under construction at the same time they have a high jump fan, javelin runway, discus throwing circle, hammer throw thrwoing circle and shot put throwing circle.
