Europave shockpad is another name for insitu rubber shockpad. Europave Shockpad are constructed from 2-6mm SBR (Styrene Butadene Rubber) rubber crumb and are machine laid. Rubber Shockpad can be laid directly onto a dynamic sub base or preferably onto an engineered base. It is designed to assist the carpet backing of the synthetic turf from rucking. Europave shockpad is generally installed at 15mm onto macadam or 25mm directly onto MOT stone.
A shockpad is a resilient layer introduced between the sub base and the playing surface. The shockpad is used to provide a degree of comfort to players, cushioning the impact on joints / muscles and generally improves the playing characteristics of the synthetic surface as well as prolonging the life of the carpet.
Europave shockpads have been installed beneath thousands of sports surfaces including matchplay, matchwinner, conqueror 40, conqueror 50, conqueror 60, playrite sports surfaces, soccergrass, challenge pro, desso sports surfaces, rhino turf sports surfaces, polytan sports surfaces, mondo sports surfaces, easigrass sports surfaces and many more.
Sand filled synthetic turf is a vertical pile tufted carpet with sand infill and is a hard wearing all weather sports surface ideal for both a full size Synthetic Turf Pitch (STP) and also a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) because it has good durability and has progressed vastly from the days of Astroturf.
Sand dressed synthetic turf is a shorter and denser pile with a reduced quantity of sand infill which again is a hard wearing all weather sports surface ideal for both a full size Synthetic Turf Pitch (STP) and also a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) but generally used where hockey is the primary sport. This again offers great durability and has left Astroturf sports surfacing behind.
Needle-punch is a woven and knitted synthetic turf which helps to keep the sand infill stability within the pile and has higher drainage characteristics but is more driven towards a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) only and wouldn’t recommend for a full size Synthetic Turf Pitch (STP).
